New widget app update - Part 1

New widget app in the works!

I’m will admit that I was skeptical when Apple announced that they were adding home screen widgets to iOS 14 (2022). I didn’t think it was a big deal (outside of the weather widget of course; we are obsessed with the weather, aren’t we?). Why would we get so excited about adding intrsuive blocks on our home screens which display small bits of data that only ocassionally get updated?

Using the weakness as a strenth

Well, now that I came up with an idea of my own for widgets I’ve had a change of heart (so typical, eh? 😅). I suddently saw the weakness of widgets as a potential strength when used in a specific way and I’ve been hard at work getting this idea up and running. Yes, I know I’m being vague, but I don’t want to spoil the actual announcement of the app.

I now have a proof of concept version on TestFlight that i’ve been using and testing with a select circle of friends and it seems to have some traction! I’m excited about this and am going to focus my energy on polishing it up and getting ready to be published.

I’m learning some stuff along the way and will update the blog when I get closer to pushing this app out, for now i’m just way too excited to get this out. I can’t wait to share this with more people.
